Eaves Protection

What do they do

Eaves Protection boards are a black plastic rigid tray that are designed to go under the sarking felt to provide support and protection to the eaves.

Why do we fit them

Eaves Protection Boards offer an affordable solution to repair perished sarking felt and help prevent it from sagging at the eaves behind the fascia board. This ensures that rainwater flows properly into the gutter. Additionally, the product acts as a barrier to deter birds and pests from entering the eaves under the tiles, as it creates a rigid plastic shield beneath the sarking felt, making it difficult or impossible for them to peck through and build nests.

Sizes

Eaves Protection Boards come in handy 1.5 meter lengths. The board is designed to project 165mm under the roofing felt (from the edge of the fascia board), with an integral lip that sits into the back of the guttering. The overall width of the board is 195mm.

Benefits

  • Recycled plastic is renowned for its durability and low maintenance requirements, making it an ideal material for building material. Being plastic, It does not rot, peel, or warp over time or require any maintenance.

  • Eaves Protection Boards offer a cost-effective solution compared to replacing the sarking felt up to the first batten. Typically, only one roofing tile needs to be removed to install the Eaves Protection Board, whereas replacing the last meter of felt may require removing up to three rows of tiles. In most cases, it is only the very edges of the felt that are perished, making the installation of our Eaves Protection Boards a more affordable option that provides even better performance than simply installing just replacing or repairing the sarking felt alone.

  • Eaves Protection Boards tuck underneath the sarking felt and sit inside the guttering. This prevents rain getting between the guttering and the fascia board. Fitting this product iliminates the shadow otherwise found when the felt has perished. This improves the look of the edge of the roofline giving it a crisp black edge, where it can be seen from a distance, or from above. At the same time it provides a clever solution to improve the specification of your roofline.

  • Our Eaves Protection Boards are made from 100% recyclable plastic. Once fitted they never require replacement unlike sarking felt which would go on to perish again. This product should last the lifetime of the roof and beyond.
