Gutterguard

Gutterguard Types

Gutter Guard comes in two types: Gutter Guard and Hedgehog (bristles). Gutter Guard is the preferred choice as it maintains gutter performance and remains hidden. In contrast, Hedgehog bristles can expand in sunlight, becoming visible, clogged, and unsightly. We've replaced many Hedgehog systems with Gutter Guard for this reason. Balloon guards, fitted at the outlet, are also effective at preventing blockages in drains or soakaways.

Gutterguard Benefits

A disadvantage of fitting any form Gutter Guard at all is it will need to be removed and refitted periodically for proper cleaning of the Guttering.
While there is no totally ‘maintenance free’ solution for keeping on top of debris falling into the guttering. In areas of the roof with overhanging trees, or significant moss we always advise fitting Gutter Guards as the build up of leaves can quickly lead to blockages.

Gutterguard Sizes

Gutter Guard comes in 500mm sections that clip together to form the entire length required and can be trimmed to size.
This product is 112mm in overall width. Hedgehog systems come in a 4m coil and can be trimmed to size. This system requires clips at 300m centres to avoid it warping in the sun.
